Empowering Youth with Experience and Heart

Born in Chicago and raised in Madison, Chariss Dupaty, aka Coach Reese, has had a lifelong passion for basketball, athletics, and mentorship. Known throughout the Madison basketball community for his love of the game, positive energy, and leadership, Reese brings years of playing experience, coaching knowledge, and enthusiasm to every training session.

Basketball has always been a major part of his life — from neighborhood games and competitive school teams to nearly pursuing the sport professionally. 

About two years ago, Coach Reese made the move to California to start a new chapter on the Central Coast and bring his passion for youth basketball and mentorship to the community. As a father of four, he understands the importance of creating a positive environment where young athletes feel encouraged, supported, and motivated to grow both on and off the court.

When he’s not coaching basketball, you can probably find Reese fishing, spending time with family, or hanging out with his dog, Dude — who may or may not think he’s the real assistant coach of Dupaty Basketball Academy.

Coach Reese believes basketball is about more than just developing skills — it’s about building confidence, discipline, teamwork, leadership, and character that lasts far beyond the game.

Through Dupaty Basketball Academy, Reese is passionate about helping boys and girls of all skill levels build strong basketball fundamentals, grow in confidence, and develop a lifelong love for the game.

No previous basketball experience necessary — just hustle, heart, and a willingness to grow.
